Ancient Explorer’s School Holidays Competition 2018

by | Dec 13, 2017

To celebrate the end of a fabulous year and the start of a new one, we are running a creative writing and art competition. This is open to both children and adults.

For this competition called ‘My Adventure at Machu Picchu’, we would like you to imagine that you are an ancient explorer visiting the majestic Inkan town and historic sanctuary, Machu Picchu, and then create a short story. Your story can be a written piece up to 1000 words in length, such as a poem, newspaper or scientific report or even a historical fantasy. You can also draw or paint a picture of your adventure. For those of you who love films, you may like to make a short video.

To inspire your imagination and get your creativity flowing, I have put together a short video featuring photographs from my visits to this wonderful archaeological place.

There are two categories and a winner will be chosen from each one.

The first category is children up to 18. The winner will receive a Team Ancient Explorer journal and art print featuring Ana Solana, Wacho or Otis.

The second category is adults over 18. The winner will receive a photographic print and journal of Machu Picchu.

We will publish the winners’ work on our website,
